Structural Engineering
Consultants, Inc.

The Structural Engineering Consultants, Inc., is a comprehensive consulting firm offering structural engineering design services for single and multi-family development projects. Having designed both custom and tract residential developments for over fifteen years throughout the United States, we understand the need for cost effective solutions that also meet today’s stringent building codes.

To accomplish these goals, we use innovative products such as the Simpson Strong-Wall and Hardy Frame Systems. For three story and taller multi-family projects, the Simpson ATS continuous holdown system is used to ensure adequate holdown capacity that typically cannot be achieved through conventional holdown hardware. These products have proven to be cost effective alternatives to plywood shearwalls and steel frames. On single family dwellings post tension concrete slabs have been used in problematic soil areas to limit the effects of settlement due to soil movement. On multi-family projects matt slabs and pile design have been used to ensure stability against poor soil conditions.

To streamline the design process and facilitate the exchange of information and drawings, we use AutoCAD 2002 drafting with full Internet capability in combination with the industry’s latest engineering design and costing software. Combined with our experience, this has established the ability to produce cost effective designs with quality construction documents for development projects throughout California and the United States.
